Supplies and Services Wish List

Thank you for considering a donation to Ahimsa House! We receive no government funding, so support from individuals and organizations in the community is very important to our survival. In addition to cash gifts, which help us cover the costs of veterinary care and emergency boarding for the animals in our program as well as our day-to-day expenses such as our phone bill for our 24-hour crisis line, we are glad to accept in-kind donations of new and gently used items. If purchasing new, please consider shopping via iGive and selecting us as your charity of choice so we will benefit even more!

Note: A common question we're asked is, "Why aren't there more pet supplies on your list? Can I donate such items anyway?" The answer is that thanks to the generosity of local businesses and donors, we usually have plenty of pet supplies. Our real needs are for the items below, which are much harder for us to get donated. They may not be as much "fun" to shop for, but your donation of one of the items below will directly benefit our work by allowing us to save our precious funds for other needs. Thank you!

Supplies Needed 

• Gift cards to general retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, and Amazon, or pet/office supply stores
• Gift cards to other retailers (any amount) that we can use as incentives/prizes at our outreach events & fundraisers
• Gas cards for the pet transportation/outreach vehicle we won in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Contest
• Flea prevention for medium to large dogs (Advantix, Frontline, etc; no grocery store brands please)
• Heartworm prevention for any size pet
• Cat litter (clumping)
• Dog crates (large)
• Cat carriers
• Small table
• Small printer stand
• Storage shelves like these (need 2-3)
• Large airtight plastic bins for storing pet food
• Cell phones for our phone donation program (any model, any condition, working or not)
• Copy/printer paper
• Toilet paper
• Computers: up to 8, laptop or desktop, new or very gently used (ours are currently taking 10-45 mins to boot up)
• Adobe Acrobat software
• Printer Cartridges - HP LaserJet 53A and Canon 240 and 241
• Tablecloth clips
• Tablecloth weights or fishing weights
• Clear packing tape
• First-Class Stamps
• LCD projector
• Table drape with our logo on it for our outreach events
• Tent canopy with our logo on it for our outreach events
• Rolling cart like this one
• Car vacuum or Dustbuster
• Casio label maker tape cartridges (9mm) 
• Birdseed
• Garden tiller (donate or loan)
